Are masks still required at Kelsey?

I assume everyone has heard the news that Texas will soon be “100 percent open.” I’ve listened to dozens of people respond to that report. There is no short of opinions as to whether this is the right decision or the right time.

Whatever your attitudes toward the declaration are, I hope you appreciate the decision I have made about our church.

When Governor Abbott held his press conference, I drafted an email to our church council. After a few hours, I sent it. I wanted to pray about it a little more.

We are still requiring everyone to wear a mask in the sanctuary. The pews are still taped off to allow for better social distancing. For the time being, we are not using bulletins or hymnals.

As more people are getting vaccinated, I suspect more people will begin showing up to in-person worship.

That is fine. I miss seeing you all!

I only ask that you strongly encourage one another and hold yourself accountable to the social-distancing practices we have in place.

Praise God, we are closer to the end of the pandemic than we have been. That doesn’t mean we’re there yet. As God’s family, we’re still doing as much as we can to care for one another.

Stay blessed…john
