Sermon Follow Up: From Hollow to Holy

What’s in a name? Everything, when it comes to God’s name.

This weekend’s sermon reminded us that taking the Lord’s name in vain isn’t just about avoiding certain words. It’s about living up to the power and meaning behind God’s name:

“The Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”

Are we truly reflecting God’s character in our words and actions? Or are we using the Lord’s name to justify our own agendas?

Let’s challenge ourselves to move from being hollow to holy. Let’s strive to make God’s name hallowed in our lives, not empty. When we uphold the true meaning of God’s name, we give glory to God and find renewed purpose in our faith.

Remember: Our names tell our stories. What story is your life telling about God’s name?
