But taking a break isn’t always easy. Responsibilities at work or home don’t disappear. Who’s going to fill in our for us or take care of what we’re responsible for? Still, it’s vital to listen to these signs.

Start by setting boundaries: even a few hours each week of time unplugged from emails or tasks can can a long way to refresh your mind and body. Consider scheduling short breaks throughout the week, where you step away from everything for even ten minutes. A short walk, reading a book, or taking a few deep breaths can reset your energy.

The Bible speaks of Sabbath as a sacred practice, a rhythm of rest that refreshes our souls and reminds us of God’s provision. Taking Sabbath allows us to release the weight of our work, trusting God to hold all things together. Remember, rest is not an escape but a way to renew our strength and perspective, returning to our responsibilities with greater purpose and peace. Whether it’s a dedicated day or a few mindful moments, taking time to rest is a gift God offers us for our well-being.
