Our new district superintendent
Our annual conference is adjusting to ministry after disaffiliation. That means discerning what our ministry looks like after approximately 1/3 of United Methodist congregations in our conference left the denomination.
One of the necessities has been to restructure the geographical bounds of our districts. So, currently, we have 7 districts; our district is the Coastal Bend District). After Annual Conference in June, we will have 3 districts. We don’t have the finalized boundaries of the new districts. Most likely, our new district will include the Rio Grande Valley.
For now, what we know is there will be a new superintendent. The conference announced the appointment of Pamela Dykehouse as superintendent of the new district. Pamela currently serves FUMC, Corpus Christi. You can read more about her in this article from the conference: Bishop Announces Superintendent Appointment
We look forward to working with Pamela and extending a Kelsey welcome to her.
