Christmas at Kelsey

Do you have Christmas plans?
We’d love to celebrate Christmas with you and your family! There are several events planned to help you make Christmas a meaningful time. Everyone’s always invited and everything is free. So, consider yourself invited and help us by sharing the invitation.

Children’s Christmas Program
Sunday, December 10th @ 6pm
Come watch the kids share the Christmas message with everyone. After the program stay for cookies, refreshments and lots of pictures! It’s always a fun time for everyone.

Youth Christmas Caroling
Friday, December 15th
Our youth group visits members and friends in the nursing home and those who are home bound to sing Christmas carols with them. If you would like them to visit someone you know in Corpus, contact our office.

Christmas Cantata
Sunday, December 17th @ 6:30pm
Our choir has been preparing a musical message for you. Come hear the sounds of Christmas, and make this a family tradition. Of course, there’s always a great time to be had at the fellowship time afterwards.

Sidewalk Christmas
Wednesday, December 20th
We’ll have holiday treats and music available on the church sidewalk. Come and have fun and enjoy a bit of Christian fellowship.

Service of the Longest Night
Thursday, December 21st @ 7pm
In all the Winter Wonderland and Most Wonderful Time of the Year feelings, it’s easy to forget that the holidays are often a difficult time for many people. We take time to pause and recognize the hurt and loss many of us feel during the holidays.

Christmas Eve Candlelight
Sunday, December 24th @ 7pm
It’s Christmas! Celebrate the Savior’s birth as we worship together.

New Year’s Eve Worship
Sunday, December 31st @ 7pm
We’ll usher the New Year with a time of worship, prayer and sharing. Let’s give God thanks for the year that has passed and prayerfully look forward to 2018!

$100 Rice Krispies Treats

So, let’s set the scene.

We had 10 youth attend Summer Camp in Sacramento, NM.  Each year, the camp hosts an auction to benefit ministry projects.  The auction not only gives the youth a chance to raise money for ministry, but it’s also a lot of fun.  This year’s project was designated for a new service project developing in El Valle District.

Our plan worked!  Our youth group used money raised through one of their fundraisers to use at the camp auction.

It was about the 5th auction item when the youth decided what they wanted to do: use all their money on one item.  That one item?  A box of Rice Krispies Treats.  Here’s the fun moment when they won:

Wonder how much they can bring next year?

Summer Sermon Series

We’re excited about this year’s Summer Sermon Series.

We hear a lot about the importance of reading and studying the Bible. Of course, the Bible is a gift from God that inspires and leads us.

But let’s be real. Some of the stories in the Bible are pretty strange. Stories about angels, animals and dysfunctional families make for some….”interesting” reading. Even so, these stories are just as much part of our faith tradition as is a passage like John 3:16.

That’s why Sundays in July we’re focusing on some of the strange stories from the Bible–that’s our series title.

We hope you’ll be able to see that even in the strange stories there is truth, guidance and inspiration.

So, make plans to join us on Sunday mornings, and use the series as a way to invite someone you know to church.

Finally, sign up to participate in our monthly Bible reading plan. We have a Bible reading plan for every day of July. You can join our entire church in reading and thinking about the same Bible passages.
